It’s pretty much the exact same thing. The ecommerce market is so small. But the price of most things is really much higher. Our income is higher because of our work ethic. We are more motivated to make the right decisions about our life.
Of course, this is only true if you are just starting out in your career. You will, of course, get pushed out of this equation if you are still in school, haven’t worked in a few years, or have a huge student loan.
So how much do you make? Well, most people I know make between $200-300 per hour, which is the same as the average ecommerce seller. And there are a ton of very competent ecommerce sites. But you will get very little help for your education. I have a friend who is in school and is in high school, and he makes around $1,000 per month. So there are lots of smart people out there with less education.
The point is that if you have the best degree in your field, you will probably be able to find a job at that level for less than you pay for a high school education. So you have to have a college degree to really get your foot in the door at a top ecommerce company. Of course, they pay high salaries. But I do think you should also look out for companies that are more transparent about compensation and how much you’re likely to earn.
So at least in my experience (I have a degree in information systems) ecommerce is still, for the most part, a pretty good place to find jobs. There are some companies that have a good track record of hiring graduates. You also need to look out for companies that are more transparent about compensation and how much youre likely to earn.
And here is the most important thing: there are a lot of job postings for ecommerce specialist. But when you look at the pay, it can be very low. I recently posted a job on Craigslist, and I got a pay of $30/hr. But that was in a very competitive field.
A lot of the jobs at those companies, they are advertised, and there are some who work in those fields. But the majority of the jobs are not advertised at all, and that’s why it’s important to look for job postings. Because a lot of the jobs are posted without any reference to their salary requirements. The compensation for ecommerce specialist varies greatly. Some go for 40 hours a week, some go for 20.
My current position is in a very competitive field, but it’s not the only one. There are others I haven’t filled out yet, and there are even more I haven’t heard of. But most of the ones I have heard of are between 40 hours a week and 80.
There is a lot of variance to the pay for ecommerce specialist, so it is worth taking a look into it. Also, there are times where I could get lucky and find the job posted at 50 hours a week, but most of the ones Ive found are somewhere between 70 and 80 hours a week. The pay is just as much as the salary, but it is just a little bit higher.
I think that once you work your way up into the ecommerce specialist pay scale you have a good idea of what you will actually make in a given period of time. If you are lucky enough to have an offer, then it is worth taking the time to see what you can get. Ive had some offers that have come in at the $60K range, but most of the offers Ive been offered have been in the $50K to $70K range.
