It’s not that hard to make a pop up in your browser. All you really need is a little Javascript and some CSS, and you can really pull it off. You can also easily include an ad in it, but it should be a bit more subtle.

I used to be one of those people that would actually consider watching a video embedded in a pop up window just to check out what it was. But now I feel like I have this “You’re going to watch my porn?” look. Now I just open the pop up window and find out if its a video of something I’m interested in, or if it’s actually a really awesome ad.

I remember when I first started going to the gym with my wife. She would always have one of those little pop up windows that she would put on the other side of my desk. It always had that pop up ad telling me I needed to get a gym membership, and it would be a little popup window with a bunch of ads. She was always complaining because she would get so bored with the ads it was a bit annoying.
